Important Warning:
To protect public health and prevent the spread of diseases, it is illegal to bring live animals or animal products into, out of, or through Thailand without a permit.
Violators may face:
Up to 2 years in prison
A fine of up to 200,000 THB
Or both
Examples of Restricted Items:
Live Animals: Cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, elephants, cows, etc.
Animal Products: Meat, bones, milk, eggs, hides, feathers, animal-derived food products, etc.
If you are carrying any live animals or animal products, declare them at the Animal Quarantine Office located at Phuket Airport:
Location: International Passenger Terminal, in front of Baggage Claim #1
Contact the Department of Livestock Development, Thailand for detailed requirements and permit applications.
Note: These regulations are enforced under the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015). Failure to comply may result in legal consequences.
