Plant Quarantine Import Requirements
It is illegal to bring many types of fruits, vegetables, plants and plant products into Thailand without approval from the Department of Agriculture. Most fresh fruits and vegetables are restricted entry because they may carry various exotic plant pest and diseases. Without proper pre-shipment treatment and/or certification, they will be confiscated and destroyed in accordance with the plant Quarantine Act of Thailand. Passengers traveling on international flights should aware of Thailand’s plant quarantine requirements when you enter Thailand.
1. Plants are prohibited :
Passengers are not allowed to bring agriculture items indicated below. Any person who violates shall be fined or imprisoned, or both. All agricultural items which are not allowed to bring intoThailand should be confiscated and destroyed without reimbursement.

2. Plants must be declared :
Passengers are allowed to bring agricultural items indicated below if they are declared to a plant quarantine officer, accompanied with a phytosanitary certificate (PC) and found free from pests and diseases. Any person who violates shall be fined or imprisoned, or both. Illegal items should be confiscated and destroyed without reimbursement.

Punishment for Non-compliance
Importing fruits without an Import Permit or importing vegetables and fruits without a Phytosanitary Certificate will be penalized according to Section 8 (2) and Section 10 of the Plant Quarantine Act B.E. 2507 (1964) and its amendments.
Fresh fruits classified as prohibited articles must have a Phytosanitary Certificate from the country of origin, and importers must obtain a permit to import prohibited items for trade into the Kingdom and notify the Plant Quarantine Station.
Failure to comply will result in penalties under Section 21 of the Plant Quarantine Act, which includes imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 20,000 THB, or both.
