Transfer Procedure

1. Steps for Connecting from a Domestic Flight to an International Flight

Step 1 Passenger Arrival at Phuket International Airport

Passengers arrive at the terminal. The aircraft is parked at the Domestic Terminal, and the airline must separate passengers before disembarking. The airline must assign staff to assist passengers from the point of contact with the terminal (aircraft door) to the Transit/Transfer route at the International Terminal (Level 2).

Step 2 Transit/Transfer Process

Transfer passengers walk to the Swing Gate area of the International Terminal using the connecting path between the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal (Level 2). The ground service staff from the airline will accompany the passengers to the transfer route.

Step 3 Boarding Pass Collection/Luggage Check and Customs Process

Airline staff will issue a boarding pass to the passenger (if the passenger did not receive a boarding pass at the origin). The passenger must pass through a security check, including a hand-carry bag inspection and body scan. The passenger must then go through the customs inspection process for their luggage.

Step 4 Passenger Waiting at International Departure Hall, Level 3, International Terminal

Passengers wait in the international departure hall on Level 3 to await the boarding call.

When the airline announces the boarding call, passengers must undergo passport and boarding pass verification, ensuring they match the passenger's identity. Once the verification is complete, passengers proceed through the departure gate and down to Level 2 of the International Departure Terminal to board their flight.

2. Steps for Connecting from an International Flight to an International Flight

Step 1 Passenger Arrival at Phuket International Airport

The passenger arrives at the Phuket Airport Terminal. The airline must segregate passengers before disembarking the plane and assign staff to assist passengers at the point where they first make contact with the terminal (at the aircraft door) and guide them to the Transit/Transfer path at the International Terminal (Level 2).

Step 2 Process at the Transit/Transfer Point

Step 3 Boarding Pass Collection and Hand Carry Luggage Check at the Security Checkpoint

The airline staff issues a boarding pass to the passenger (if the passenger hasn't received one from the origin). The passenger will then go through security screening, where their hand luggage (Hand Carry) will be checked, and body screening will take place. Afterward, the passenger proceeds to the escalator to the International Departure Passenger Lounge on Level 3.

Step 4 Loading of Transfer/Transit Passenger Luggage onto the Aircraft

The airline's sorting staff will take the Transfer passenger's luggage to the sorting area to await loading onto the next flight. For example, SIN-HKT-DOH operated by Jetstar Asia Airways and Qatar Airways, where the Transfer passenger’s luggage will wait to be loaded onto the same flight as passengers traveling from HKT-DOH.

Step 5 Passenger Resting in the International Departure Lounge on Level 3

Passengers rest in the International Departure Lounge on Level 3 while waiting for their flight boarding announcement.

Once the airline calls for boarding, passengers must pass through passport and boarding pass verification. After the airline completes the verification, the passenger proceeds through the boarding gate, takes the escalator to Level 2 of the International Departure Terminal, and boards the flight.
